About Overair
Overair ceased operations in mid-2025 after primary investor Hanwha Aerospace withdrew its ~$170M investment, citing progress "slower than promised." The company developed the Butterfly, a quad-tiltrotor eVTOL using Optimal Speed Tiltrotor (OSTR) technology capable of 200 mph and 100-mile range. A full-scale prototype was rolled out in December 2023 but never achieved first flight before funding dried up.
