Joby's Q3 2026 Update: 17 Aircraft in Production, Final FAA Stage. When Can You Fly?

eVTOL.Travel Editorial

Joby Aviation published its third quarter 2026 results on November 4, 2026. Most coverage focuses on the stock. This post looks at the question our readers ask most: when can you actually ride in a Joby air taxi?
The key facts from Joby's report
| Item | What Joby reported |
|---|---|
| FAA certification | In the fifth and final stage of type certification, with "for credit" flight testing under way |
| Aircraft in production | 17 |
| Q3 2026 revenue | $55 million, mostly from Blade, its helicopter and jet passenger business |
| Blade passengers | More than 44,000 in the quarter, a record |
| Full-year revenue outlook | Raised to $135-140 million |
| Cash and investments | $2.2 billion at September 30, 2026 |
| Flights under the US eIPP | First flights completed in Texas and Florida |
So when can you fly?
Not yet, and Joby did not give a date. The results release lists no passenger launch date for the US or for Dubai. A certified aircraft is still the gate: until the FAA issues a type certificate, Joby cannot sell air taxi seats in the US.
Dubai remains the most likely first city. Joby has an agreement for six years of exclusive air taxi operating rights there, and market reports ahead of the results said Joby is aiming for its first passenger operations in Dubai before the end of 2026. Treat that as a target, not a booking date. We will update our Dubai coverage the day tickets are actually sold.
In the US, the October flights in Florida and the September flights in Texas were demonstrations under the eVTOL Integration Pilot Program. Nobody could buy a seat. Read our Florida trial flights explainer for what flew.
What you can book today
- Blade (owned by Joby) sells helicopter and jet seats today, for example between New York and the Hamptons, and it plans to relaunch jet service to Miami and Palm Beach in November 2026. These are not eVTOL flights.
- eVTOL rides open to the public today are in China. See eVTOL experiences for what is open and how to request a seat.
- Want to own one? Personal single-seat eVTOLs such as the YIVTOL range are sold today. See Buy an eVTOL.
What to watch next
- FAA type certificate for the Joby S4. This is the single biggest milestone for US service.
- A Dubai ticket launch with real prices and a booking channel.
- Production rate. 17 aircraft in production is a step up, but a commercial network needs many more.
